Applying Best Of Business Networking

July 31st, 2009 Robert Comments off

With the advent of web 2.0, business networking has gained prominence. But many of treat the concept of ‘business networking’ with fear and apprehension. Reasons for their fear are many. If two people network, do they both win? If both of them win, does the customer lose?

The Real Winners are those who work Together

Ideally business networking provides a win -win situation for all in the Home Business arena. It is because individuals or businesses come together, inevitably they will ultimately provide faster and enhanced services to their clients. These clients can be an existing client, a new one, or one that both individuals and businesses pitched together to obtain.

For example, suppose an printing agency has a client for a video promotion. This agency can outsource their work to a professional video production company. However, the video production company can drive immense benefits from the print agency to do printing related jobs like DVD covers. Thus the video producer can focus on what they do the best and the print agency can continue to render professional services in printing related works.

Neither of these businesses need to worry about hiring new employees or purchasing new equipments to do the additional work. It is beneficial for both companies to sit together and discuss the finer points of division of labor and monetary matters.

It’s a WIN – WIN!

In business networking, it is ultimately the client who emerges as the winner. From the perspective of clients, he needs to keep in touch with one contact person who will act as the representative of both companies. This arrangement is also financially beneficial for the client in Online Marketing. He will receive a far better product from both companies because each one is especially skilled in their respective areas. Ultimately, business networking works in advantage of the clients in more ways than one.

The trick of the trade lies in making these networking partnerships work. It is very important to maintain good communication and rapport between the two companies. Often it has been found that, when it comes to creative services, the ego of employees often clash, resulting in growing animosity between the two companies involved.

Give up the WIN -LOSE Mentality and Discover New Opportunities

Both companies should exhibit the willingness to sit together and talk to resolve the issues. Negotiation and mutual compromise will go a long way in working out effective solutions beneficial for both companies. Your clients on the other hand are not bothered about what goes around before delivering the final product to them. They are only concerned about getting the best quality services from you. Hence always take care to remain customer centric. Provide them a service of value which they will cherish and they will come back for more.

So, coming back to the question which was asked in the beginning of this article. If two people (or businesses) network, do they both win?

If both of them win, does a customer lose? The answer is both Yes and No. If both business networkers collaborate effectively, then business networking can be conducted properly and effectively. So, the customer will never lose. Otherwise, both will emerge as losers. Not only have you lost a customer, but you also lost the change to grow both your businesses. Think twice before you want to get a leg up on your customers and potential partnerships, look for the win-win, concentrate on what you do best. And everyone wins in the end.

Making It Easy: Email Marketing Best Practices

July 29th, 2009 Robert Comments off

Email is where your Business Begins and Ends

Often, fresh email marketers want to reduce costs, and thus opt for controlling their email marketing campaigns by hand without the use of software. Now, although initially this is possible, what inevitably happens is that their list grows.

First to 100, then 300, then 550 and before they have time to realize the mess they’ve gotten themselves in to, they’re unable to keep up with their list management. In order to maintain your sanity, it is important to automate many of the repetitive email marketing tasks from the very beginning by using good email marketing software.

Which Email Newsletter Software to use?
Ultimately, what new email marketers should really do is read a few email marketing reviews and invest in email newsletter software that helps automate the more repetitive tasks. Things like managing un-subscriptions, performance analysis, email design and email scheduling are just a few of the benefits of sufficient email marketing software.

Generally, prices range from $10/month all the way to a couple thousand if your list is very big, but chances are that you will be in the $10/month range for quite a while as you begin to grow your list. There are a variety of software programs available and I recommend you look at Aweber Email Management. Ultimately the point of email marketing software is to help you focus on two things, increasing your Optins and writing great content to get more readers.

Testing Newsletter Delivery
One of the most important tasks of any email marketer should be concerned about is performance testing. This involves segmenting or breaking down your list and then trying various calls to action, content layouts, button and ad placement and so-on. Again, new email marketers should review an email marketing software comparison After making a few changes and then sending a fresh newsletter, recording the results. Then alter it again to see if your readers increase or your sales from the emails increase.

Over time you will notice that a certain combination of text, calls to action and layout consistently perform the best. This is one way professional email marketers get such great results, it’s because they test!

Now, it’s not very easy to test your emails on your own, especially as your email list balloons, but great email marketing software will help automate this aspect by literally tracking exactly which subscribers open and respond to your emails. In my opinion, this is one of the greatest benefits of email marketing software. You now know what got them to open, and what offer got them to take action.

Content is King!
The other important benefit of email marketing software is that it lets you focus on the meat of your newsletter, the content. Now, there are many different theories on what makes great content for an email marketing newsletter, but generally, it’s important to consider your audience first.

I notice that many new email marketers focus their newsletters too much on their own business, which of course is important to you but boring for most everyone else. Remember it’s important to consider your audience and make your material unique and interesting to them.

Simply including a poll, a few links to beneficial “how-to” articles or even interviewing someone in the field and providing a download to the audio file in the email will do wonders for your conversion rates and subscriber retention.

Remember, nobody cares enough about your business to spend their free time reading about it in every single newsletter.

Ultimately, you want time to focus on boosting your business, not managing every nuance of your email campaigns. Fortunately, there is great email marketing software available that can help you save time from the very beginning.

Googles' New Chrome Browser is Shiny on the Outside…

October 15th, 2008 Robert Comments off

But after having given it a thorough spin, I find that’s all there is to it.

The Interface is Simple in the extreme, and its import ability [with Firefox] was extremely superfluous. I have discovered a few things that both work for and against its adoption as it stands right now.

Pros:

  • Fast, sleek and a no frills approach to loading web pages and internet dynamic content.
  • It does take up relatively small amounts of memory [RAM] to operate, though for every tab it takes up to 12-15 Megs for each tab.
  • Intuitive design and scheme of layout, reminiscent of IE 7. [ Kinda make me wonder why?]

Cons:

  • Has a lot of features [NOT!] certainly lacking in that department, but as I have seen with google. That will change over time.
  • It appears to be a little TOO simplistic for business or IT adoption, however children will take to it like a snickers bar, and an Xbox 360.
  • It definitely lags on .NET and ASP pages, probably due to the coding and lack of Microsoft compatibility. Hence why IT has taken a pass on its usage let alone trying to see for themselves.

All in all, its fast, clean and extremely easy to use. It is still and early adoption test, and for those who like trying something new, this takes the cake for now. For example, I;m writing this post through chrome as we speak. And I don’t see any really difference, rather than the points I stated above.

But don’t take my word for it, try it out for yourself. And tell me what you thought I’m curios to see what you have to say about it.

Here to stay and develop, or another fruit lost on the vine? Only time and testing will answer that one.
